Kidding season is over! Most of our goats have had their babies now, and we are back in full production! One weekend last month, we had 10 goats having babies at the same time!

Wow, it was amazing to walk around the fields looking for the mama’s and their cute little kids. All the does get to roam free during their pregnancy and have their kids wherever they please, so sometimes it takes a little bit of detective work to find them. They might be among the cedars, under an oak tree, or secluded on the far corner of the pasture. Most importantly, they get to choose the spot and spend the day with their little ones there. And the kids grow up beautifully!

We woke up this morning to snow on the ground! That’s Texas weather for you. Only yesterday we were wearing shorts and a t-shirt!

The goats and we are taking some time off from cheese making until February. Everyone is busy raising kids this winter and will be back to work after the holidays with loads of cute goat kids!
